New York Tilemakers has been featured in Coverings, TileLetter and TILE Magazine.
TileLetter Editor Lesley Goddin interviewed us about the installation process for her article, CID Award Winners Bring Beauty Through Mosaics. More than 2,600 ceramic pieces went into the creation of The World's Fair Mural, and we had four people onsite to install at P. S. 19 back in 2018.
TILE Magazine highlighted the installation process of The World's Fair mural that we've talked about above. The fabrication process began in January 2018 and lasted about seven months. We had a team of six who were involved in bringing the design to fruition. In August 2018, just prior to the beginning of the 2018-19 school year, we completed the weeklong installation at P. S. 19 in Queens.
We have been commissioned to make two more NYCSCA murals — a 2019 and a 2020 project. Those artists think these results are extremely promising for what they envision.
